The teaching staff was amazing. I graduated in 2006, and when I was there the atmosphere was very relaxed and they let us (me) get away with too much. I wish they would have made me work harder. I have heard that they have become more strict since.
I really enjoyed how close-knit school was. The small class sizes were are nice because there was better one-on-one work between teachers and students/parents. I wish that they would have been apter to give resources and opportunities for college-bound students, they catered a bit more to non-college or tech school options.
Going to Flambeau High has been an amazing experience. The staff want nothing but to help you. The whole school is like a big family, we try to help each other as much as possible and work to better the lives of everyone around us.
Not many parents push their children into doing good in school. A lot of them don't really care for their children.
Some of the teachers only care for us, others act like they care for us and talk behind our backs.
I think safety is pretty good. A lot has changed since graduation
I loved my time at Flambeau. It is very unique, from the outside design to the kids who are inside. The teachers have helped me in ways I can't explain. I love coming back and seeing familiar faces, and I always feel welcomed. When you visit Flambeau you have that "home sweet home" feeling. People are very open and kind. That's what you get from a small town. An unforgettable experience.
I can't remember much about the food, but I did love the mac and cheese.
I think they are doing their best. Some things can be worked on, but that's every school. The principle I had (she retired in 2014) would be seen at school events and sports, it showed that she cared to see her students excel. She was very personable. During the scholarship banquet, The district administrator (he was a new guy) sat outside of the main hall and was on his phone, not really participating... Which I thought was disrespectful.
I had a great time with the teachers. They know what they are talking about and have some interesting stories. If you take the time to listen to them you can go far. Some of them are more reserved but that's okay, you don't have to be friends with every teacher, but they are doing their best to teach you and the least you can do is be respectful.
Well some of the sports were represented poorly...I think. Our golf team was amazing, and it was super fun being with those guys. But if we made it to sectionals, we never had an assembly...It felt like the school didn't care. But the students who were in golf were the most determined kids I knew. I encourage kids to try it out. It is an easy going sport and it teaches you a different kind of responsibilty...it's not like football or basketball, you have to focus on your own strengths and that can be tough, but a very rewarding sport.
I felt that some of the sports were left out, like golf (Never had an assembly for golfers) But I loved my time at Flambeau. The teachers are relatable and really nice. Being able to work with one as an assistant was a great opportunity. I feel like our guidance counselor did a great job with helping me and made meetings for the class of 2014 to show us all the choices, from college, tech, military etc. to pick from. A lot has changed since graduation, but all in all I love coming back for visits.
I love growing up in such a small town. With a graduating class of only 38, I know everyone and we all get along well. I have had the opportunity to be a part of many clubs and sports teams, and I would definitely send my future children here.
Our principal and guidance counselor always go above and beyond to help the students. Teachers do whatever necessary to put an end to bullying, and our school emphasizes the importance of attendance.
Sports are of high importance at my school. Majority of the students take part in at least one sport, and the students that are not athletes are outstanding supporters with excellent school spirit. For being a very small school our sports facilities are phenomenal.
Teachers here at Flambeau are always willing to help out. They are easy to talk to and understanding of the students.
I attend a small school so we don't have a wide variety of activities. However, we have a lot of support from staff at school and people throughout the community to help better our programs. I would say at my high school the most popular extracurricular activities would definitely be sports.
