Personally, I think that First Baptist is an amazing school. I have attended First Baptist since the third grade and the school is capable of creating an almost family-like environment. One is able to form friendships that will last a life-time; this includes the teachers and staff. Everyone is very friendly and the students will be very sad when any loved teacher has to retire. The academics are thoroughly explaining, as the teachers are capable of giving one-on-one assistance to students who need help grasping a topic. Overall, I think this school is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
I attended First Baptist Christian School from 1st-8th grade. Some of the curriculum being taught when I was enrolled (2008-2016) prepared me exceptionally for when I transferred over to a public high school, having no trouble handling honor/gifted classes for the first time in my life. However, the overall quality of "academics" at this school was a bit concerning. I was taught various lies at a young age that did not reflect reality in the slightest (for example, at this school, I was taught that men had fewer ribs than women). From what I remember at my time being there, there was little to no student diversity. Opinions that differed from the usual were not tolerated and were scorned against by faculty/administration. This school offers little to no tolerance for those who differ from their ideology in the slightest. I would not recommend this institution if you want your child to explore themselves in a healthy environment and develop rational/critical thinking skills.
I’ve been at First Baptist Christian School in Slidell, Louisiana since I was young. I love how small the school is, and I enjoy being able to have welcoming conversations with the teachers. The staff makes you feel right at home, and I love how close I am with my classmates!
