We have been at FBCA Pasadena for 2 years now and couldn't be happier! The academic rigor of the HS and MS is outstanding as are the teachers. The administrationt has set high expectations ffor student conduct and holds all students accountable. There are many opportunities for HS students to take AP and Dual Credit classes. Most importantly the students are taught Christian values and morals and they see examples of that lived out in other students, staff, and administration.
Honestly, I could not repay my parents for this experience. Being put in a Christian environment definitely helped and the teachers actually cared about me personally and invested time into my future. I would mainly change the atmosphere. The administration does a great job and the teachers are great, but the kids can make you feel like there is no difference in this school and a public school. If we are going to put Christian on the sign, we need to act like it. I am being brutally honest.
Being at First Baptist for 5 years has really strengthened me mentally and spiritually. Each academic ciricumulm and faculty have a strong basis of Christian faith and understanding, needed to withstand the world. I am impressed as I compare myself to the education of a public high school student and of a private Christian school. I believe I have learned a lot more at a private Christian school. This school prepares students for university settings. As some teachers can be easily-going and others strict to the book. The teacher-student ratio is about 1:16. Therefore the classrooms are relatively small, but the school is slowly growing. I learned a lot better with a small ratio of students to increase focus and minimal distractions in the classroom.
