Fernway Park Elementary School Reviews

It is an average school, most do not see it as a great elementary after leaving. The school’s weakest point is clubs.
I went here in the mid 2000s from kindergarten to fifth. And as an adult it is not a surprise this school is rated the worst in the district. Not only was there a lot of bullying happening, the teachers and staff almost encouraged it. I felt like academically I wasn't challenged enough, but discouraged from advancing academically. Teachers were not shy hiding their sexism or racism. Many of the teachers used the technique of publicly embarrassing shy and quieter students for irrelevant issues. Yet the same teachers refused to punish those louder obnoxious students who's parents kissed their feet. From what I heard the school has not changed since I left. Although some of the most toxic teachers have retired, there are still a handful of incompetent staff in the school. Do yourself a favor and find your child a better school nearby. Save them the trauma and therapy.
I personally think that this is a rather good school. I attended this school from 2009 to 2014 while I attended first through fifth grade and was very happy while I was there. Although this is one of the lower rated schools in Kirby School District 140, that does not mean that it is a bad school. Fernway is a school that consistently turns out good kids who are ready for the middle school level of their education. I also think that the teachers at this school were outstanding while I was there. I fact, my first, fourth, and fifth grade teachers are still at the school.
