The teachers are supportive, they want all students to be successful, and they challenge us every day to be better. We also have the opportunity to take courses at other campuses, to obtain a different perspective and to learn in a new environment.

The school encouraged us to apply to colleges early on, and stressed the importance of searching for scholarships. They help with this initiative, by meeting with student weekly to discuss progress, scheduling talks with college advisers to answer questions, organizing college fairs to gain openness about attending other colleges, and utilizing class periods to talk about college readiness.

Ferndale High School is welcoming and embrace different cultures and backgrounds.

Ferndale High School is a racial and ethnically diverse, LGBTQ+ friendly school that values the differences in its students. It has a state champion marching band, a wide variety of AP classes, a beautiful central courtyard with a pond, an updated technology station, open campus lunch for upperclassmen, an award winning robotics team, an e-sports team, a fantastic theatre program, and the opportunity to go to off-campus facilities like OTEC and CASA for advanced and career focused classes in the afternoon.
Coming from a school district that had never given a thought about any of their student's futures, Ferndale High School stole my heart the moment I enrolled. The teachers care about your grades, your social life, your mental health, and your future. Our counselors work extremely hard to give everyone once in a lifetime opportunities. I could go on about how amazing our sport teams are and about the passionate students within my school, but I think saying that going to Ferndale High School made me a better student and a lucky person overall, is a nicer way of putting it.
