Attending Fenwick High School was the best choice my mom could have made. I am a Chicago resident. The best schools in the city are only attainable by the "selective enrollment" process. Yes, I tested into one of the top schools and even attended a program for incoming Freshman students. After weighing the options, my mother chose Fenwick. Fenwick provided a great learning environment. It's a smaller school with a better teacher-student ratio. Everyone knows one another. It feels like a family atmosphere and no one got lost in the cracks. I feel like my class started together and not that it was easy for everyone but we worked hard and we finished together. I'm forever a Fenwick Friar!

Fenwick has GREAT academics.I believe that my classes are at the perfect pace and difficulty, and I am definitely challenged. The sports are very fun and help create strong bonds between your teammates.Plus,Fenwick has plenty of clubs and sports for every person.Although Fenwick has great academics, sports, and multiple others pros of the school, there are some cons. There is a lot of separation and popularity connected to where you live and depending of how wealthy of a background you come from. This is not often noticeable at first glance, but can become very irritating over time.I would say if you fit into the social norms of the school, you will have an amazing experience at Fenwick, but if you more value diversity, there are probably better fits for you in a high school, and I would recommend considering your other options(trust me, I know this from experience unfortunately). However, either way you will overall have a mostly positive experience at Fenwick.
Fenwick when I attended was attended by generally upper middle class kids from the nearby area. I saw a lot of entitled and generally spoiled kids which could always count on dads money and connections to smooth over any problems. Fenwick prides itself on saying how many of its graduates go on to college. They generally won’t say how many actually graduate from college. Fenwick is an anachronism, a Catholic school where many traditional Catholic teachings are preached but not practiced. A school which is fast pricing itself out of business. A school which will struggle to maintain its enrollment levels in the face of declining numbers of teenagers and those who can pay the cost of tuition.
