Both my children are students at Fayerweather and I can't say enough about how much we love this school! While no place is perfect, Fayerweather comes pretty close in my book. Obviously I care about the education my kids are getting, but I also want a school that values the WHOLE child and Fayerweather absolutely does. My kids come home talking about the different biomes on Earth AND how one cultivates a growth mindset. I'm also really impressed by how much the school incorporates anti-bias curriculum into every grade.

My daughter has been at Fayerweather since Pre-K and is now in the second grade. She loves this school and so do we!

From the first time I visited the FSS campus, I was struck by the perfect balance it strikes between academics and creative endeavors. The school library is the heart of the school, literally and figuratively.

The community is uniquely kind and welcoming. Parents, teachers, students - everyone is just lovely. It's such a special place.

Highly recommended!
We joined Fayerweather for middle school, after both my children attended the local public elementary school. At Fayerweather, the teachers and staff made good on their promise to “know every child.” They are flexible and responsive—truly caring about their students and supporting them as they discover the subjects and issues they are passionate about—offering many opportunities for learning *and* action. The school is strong in its academic, social/emotional, and artistic offerings—and the library and librarians are the heart of the school. We were also impressed with the robust after-school program, including team sports and an after-school band that played at The Burren in Somerville. There is a willingness to go above and beyond that is perfectly captured by Jenn, a Humanities teacher, who volunteered to teach a unit on the Holocaust over the summer months to anyone who was interested and hadn’t been able to study it during the school year due to COVID-19.
