My time at Father Gabriel Richard proved to be a very formative experience in my development as a student, Catholic, and man. I met lifelong friends and learned to push myself outside my predetermined comfort zone. Athletically, FGR enabled me to better myself as an athlete and gave me the opportunities and facilities to flourish. I would recommend FGR to any prospective families and definitely intend to send my children here!
Father Gabriel Richard has provided me with a fantastic atmosphere where through interaction with my peers and teachers, I feel fully prepared to begin my collegiate education in the upcoming year. Most of the teachers are more than accommodating to any curve balls life may throw at students, and have their doors open and ears ready to take on any burden the students may feel, yet this is a two way street. As a student in Richard you must try to form these relationships and right any wrongs you face, and not expect them to be automatically changed for you, through close partnership with student council students voices are heard, and if a student feels as if they are not, the simply must speak louder. As previously addressed in other reviews, yes FGR is a catholic school, meaning they follow catholic morals which all of the students may not agree with, but must acknowledge that this is where they have chosen to receive their education, overall this is a fantastic school!
My experience overall was a positive, faith-based one. My one criticism would be that administration was at times ununified and disorganized, making decisions that were not well-thought out. However, I am leaving the school having received a high quality education, and I feel prepared and ready for college emotionally, academically, and spiritually. The caliber of students I met there was high, and the friends that I am leaving with have challenged me and supported me throughout the past years. It is an excellent school, and I have no doubts that what I was taught there will serve me well in the future.
