I enjoyed Farmington High School's extracurricular activities, specifically the fine arts outlets. There is a great opportunity for music and the other fine arts here at Farmington. There is not a lot of funding for the music department, but I believe that the faculty and students do a great job considering the notable lack of support from outside the department. The English department is also quite fantastic. The AP English classes I took here were some of my favorite. Outside of these departments, there are many other great instructors at Farmington that are respectful and more than happy to work with students. It is easy and rewarding to become involved at Farmington.

At Farmington high school I, along with the rest of the students, am exposed to many recourse, an updated school/technology, and great academic classes (AP and IB). At the same time I find myself being one of or the only black student in all of my advance classes. Many of the students in these classes don’t think very highly of me and I would constantly bend over backwards just so I can participate in assigned group activities and the teachers do not pay any attention when students express micro aggressions towards me. However there are diversity clubs that I’m apart in to solve these problems but we cannot find enough students committed to these clubs or progress is slow. Farmington is a high school that has great academic classes and opportunities but is racially divided.
My experience in Farmington High School so far has been a great one. The atmosphere is very diverse and people here are generally nice towards each other. The teachers strive to make each student able to understand the concept being taught and are clearly passionate in what they are doing. From what I have heard and seen, the admistrators have been very helpful towards the students in situations of important information to times when they need emotional help. Overall, it can be considered one of the better high schools in Michigan to go into.
