A good school with solid academics and a wonderful culture. Welcoming to all and tolerant of all viewpoints, encouraging kids to think for themselves without trying to ram an agenda down people’s throats. Despite what is obviously a negative review here from a sour-grapes individual who lost their school board election precisely BECAUSE they were trying to force an agenda on the community, the school most certainly DOES NOT have a diversity nor an equity problem. It’s a majority-minority district and pretty much everyone gets along with everyone else, despite our differences.
There are many good things to say about Fairview. However, once you start to look deeper....the disappointment is mind blowing! Fairview has a diversity and equity problem. The administration doesn’t think so and that’s a serious problem. I did a lot of research before deciding not to send my kids to this school. The final nail in the coffin was listening to the school board meetings.
We are so lucky to live in the Fairview community. The administration, staff, teachers are all outstanding. They have great STEM, music, and sports program for kids, along with wonderful support for those who need additional reading and math assistance. They are constantly implementing new programs to support the students and their families. The school is very diverse, with Greek, Middle Eastern, Jewish, African American, Hispanic, Asian, Eastern European families. The only shortcoming the school has is building up their special-needs program. Other than that, we are grateful for those who take care of our children at Fairview.
