I love this high school and have had an amazing experience here in almost all aspects! The reason I am not giving Fairfield Warde five stars, is because of the administration. The "high power" people, like the SOME house deans and even members of the board of education, are not fit for their roles and are not the best people to be working with. This does not apply to all employees in these roles, just a good handful.
The most profound thing about high school is how quickly it goes by. It seems like just yesterday that I walked in the door as a nervous freshman, and now I'm about to become an upperclassman. The best thing at this school I have encountered so far is the plethora of resources at your disposal that are widely advertised, enough so that any student with the drive to can, and is encouraged to, take advantage of them. In particular, the administration, and by extension, the staff, without question prioritizes maximizing overall happiness during the high school experience while simultaneously ensuring students are secure with their college/career plans after graduation. The best example of this is how the Student Counseling Center and College & Career Center are both open to students to drop by at any time, a very convenient feature. I look forward to using these and all of Warde's other opportunities to unlock my fullest potential as I enter the second half of my high school journey.
Fairfield Warde High School is a great school featuring a wide array of academic and extracurricular opportunities. The community itself is also very enriching and largely collaborative. What I would like to see be implemented in the future is the easing of assignments on students during high stress scenarios (midterms, finals, athletic championships, etc) since there is little remorse or leeway for students who are falling behind due to this.
