The teachers and people were pretty good. I liked that there were a great deal of clubs to participate in. There were clubs like UNICEF, political party clubs, and clubs for every subject in the school! The teachers were mostly helpful. There were a few teachers that were unhelpful, but there were also very caring teachers as well. There was a decent amount of school spirit. The kids could be a bit cliche but many were very kind also. The school has a lot of resources and computers and other technologies. They have a good library and the librarians are very resourceful. The class sizes are good and there are many class events like dances during the year. Everyone has their own chrome book, which is useful for the students. The diversity is not great, as there are mostly Caucasians. The safety is very good and there is an on site police officer. the administration is professional and we have plenty of staff. It would be helpful if there were more guidance counselors.
My experience at FLHS has been great! The teachers are very knowledgeable and provide a great deal of knowledge to us students. They offer extra help before and after school to make sure we have all of the resources we need to succeed. The administration is very helpful, always there to support us in everything - classes, clubs, extracurricular activities and sports. They also bring in speakers that share their life experiences and help us make better choices now so we are prepared for our futures. FLHS also has a pretty competitive sports program and I have enjoyed playing soccer and lacrosse throughout my high school career I feel I have received a well-rounded education here that has prepared me for college and beyond.
As a senior, I overall enjoyed my experience at FLHS! The teachers really care about their students and prepare them for life beyond high school as best as they can. Although the work load is intense and the grading is challenging this helps students get ready for college. The school spirit is great as the stands are almost jam-packed for every Friday night football game.
However FLHS can have its flaws. I am not a fan of the new grading system with having almost all completed work count as summative grade.
I also think all of the prep for getting an internship (interviews, essays, self reports) is ridiculous and is turning lots of kids away from having the opportunity to complete one.
