Fairfield Country Day School Reviews

FCDS has been a transformative place for our sons, who entered in 4th and 6th grade. Having spent the last 3 years there, FCDS has helped our boys to become self-starters, accountable, well-rounded and GOOD people. The curriculum is rigorous and each boy is ‘pushed’ to rise to their own potential. This is also true in the sports fields, where sports are required—which was particularly great in that they tried (and ended up loving) sports they hadn’t tried yet! The boys are SO KIND to one another. Teachers are incredible. Bottom line: worth every penny.
I spent my youth at FCDS, and made some of my best, and lifelong friends there. The school was under construction while I attended, but that didn't stop the faculty and staff from giving me an excellent education. I enjoyed the small class size, and the extra attention I received when I needed help because of this. I found the classes challenging, yet extremely rewarding because my teachers prepared me for my high school years. In fact, once in the public schooling system, I was ahead of my class. Another thing I loved about Country Day, was the focus on sports and teamwork. At an early age, they taught me how to win and lose with true sportsmanship. Some of my fondest memories come from on the field, as well as on the stage. The arts and music program at FCDS has some of the most passionate and engaging staff members I have ever met. Today, I have a love of theater and music that stems from these fantastic educators.
Fairfield Country Day was an excellent place to grow and learn. As a student, I found the academics to be rigorous and difficult, but upon entering High School, I was felt prepared and was placed into Advanced and Honors courses. One aspect of FCDS that has stuck with me forever was the comradery among the students and faculty. I talk to many of my former classmates and teachers frequently. Upper School students work with Lower School students with ease. Everyone is respectful of each other, making FCDS a wonderful place to live, learn, and be a boy.
