This school's emphasis is interactive learning. They take a lot of school trips so they can relate the real world environment to what they are learning in school. Even though they are included in the Hudson County Schools of Technology, their goal is to incorporate art into their projects, presentations and homework assignments. They also emphasis working as a team. Rather than being a STEM school, they are STEAM, the A standing for ART. Most of the students who graduate, go on Tech schools such as High Tech, County prep and Ronald E. McNair. The principal makes it clear that this Middle school does not place it's emphasis on preparing students for STEM majors in High School.
The admissions process considers an unusually large number of factors. I feel that, if they were more selective academically, their school rating would be a lot higher. Diversity is valued highly in the selection process.

You could not ask for a better building.
