I do love that atmosphere that is created in the school. Everyone knows everyone one way or another and is always willing to help. The teachers were always willing to help if you needed help with a problem inside or outside the classroom. A couple things I would like to see change is the lack of diverse classes, not meaning more A.P. or honors classes. Some students would like to take other classes that are not offered at Evergreen are so driven by the fact that they may need the class for college or for the sheer knowledge of it. No student should feel like they are being punished because they are taking a class outside of the school, and that is one thing that I am afraid of happening.
Though its small-town origin causes a lack of diversity, the corn-field-surrounded school falls short in little. Invigorating courses and teachers who push the bar high allow students to receive an excellent education, full of many interactive opportunities not typically offered at the high school level. With excellent athletic, music, and academic performances across the board, the school is one full of dedicated and hardworking students who work to bring pride and recognition to their families and community. Students will leave Evergreen not only with a head full of knowledge and resume bursting with extracurricular achievements, but also the memories, stories, and close relationships that only a small-town school can provide.
The school has offered us out of district option so four of my five children were able to take advantage of a safe, bulky free school, with great academics, wonderful teachers, sports programs, college prep classes colleges classes while still in high school, and other school activities that a school should offer all in a treat clean safe very informative environment. My children and I are so very thankful for being able to attend Evergreen Schools System.
