Everett Alvarez High School really is my more preferred school in the community because of the programs that it has that others don't. In my situation, I have a class that helps me get extra credits and helps me get community hours, NJROTC, not every school has this program around where I live. Most teachers do help you a lot more than necessary. It has fun festivals in which every club expresses their culture which is fun to see. The only thing I would complain about is how some people join clubs that "fit" for them and exclude other people, sometimes I would like to see more involvement with other different people, not just the same people.

Everett Alvarez High School is a pretty advanced high school. It offers numerous AP courses and has many programs, like AVID. Quite a few students excel academically; for example, one student was a National Merit Scholar. Many subjects are offered. Yet, there are still things that can be improved. The lunch line is extremely chaotic; getting pushed around or slammed against the wall by the force of the onward crowd is not a rare occurrence. Another problem is the quality of the bathrooms. It is a frequent occurrence for the stalls to run out of toilet paper or for the towels to run out. Several stalls have tilted handles that, after some effort, succeed in flushing the toilet. The teachers could also be better quality; I have had a couple of teachers from whom I did not have a productive learning experience. The school is also a bit dirty; litter everywhere and gum all over the place. Overall, however, EAHS is an excellent academic institution that does excel academically.
During my time here, I have truly had fun. I believe the school is a very safe place. Thanks to our wonderful coaches who spend so much of their day planning to make the Alvarez Eagles number one, we have great sports teams. A special thanks to our wonderful teachers who help make classes fun and eliminate stress. Though the lunches here are pretty average and no one really complains, it would be great to have some healthier options instead of taking the easy way out and buying pizza. My time here at Everett Alvarez High School has been a smooth road and for that a am very thankful I attend this great high school.
