Esprit de Corps (EDC) Center for Learning Reviews

Being at EDC was an interesting time. While the school is rooted in Biblical principles, sometimes those things were taken in consideration of others perspective. The younger children would get more privileges than the older ones. As soon as you hit the ninth grade, you were no longer considered as precious as a kindergartener. Then you were stereotyped in a category of all the other 'little black kids' who were hoodlums and ran around in the streets, getting pregnant, and listening to rap music. The leader, Supt. Holmes-Vann was a nice, giving woman, but she sometimes mistake her school as if all the students were in her inaugural year. Other than that EDC was a nice place to be to have fellow communion with like students of your color. You were taught from the Biblical Perspective on every subject underneath the ABeka Curriculum, Yet, the great thing about it is that because it's small, you get one on one attention and a sense of family love. the people you meet their feel more like your second home rather than strangers. The uniforms provide a great way for everyone to overlook appearances and look at the man in the mirror. Overall EDC isn't a terrible school at all. They just need a few tweaks here and there

Overall this is a horrble place. Although they claim to value excellence, their teaching is incompetent which stops students from becoming adept at math, writing, etc.

Education- The curriculum they use is filled with Christian propaganda. Even if the curriculum were to be taken seriously many of the quizzes and test are somehow handicapped (ex. open book). Don't take it seriously though, it comes from the horrible college of Pensacola Christian College.

College Readiness- The fact that many of the alumnus didn't go to college proves that you aren't prepared. Fortunately, some of the ones who made it are excelling. But its because they were already smart, it had nothing to do with the school preparing them.

Don't do it to your child, its not worth it. Just let this place shutdown so that further students won't be setback by this place. Its not even fun! Some schools are bad academically but at least fun for your child, this place mentally and emotionally drains them (and you!).
