Erie high school has by far been one of the best schools I have ever attended. The students and staff at this school are next level and want nothing but the best from you. The amount of love and support I have received from teachers and administrators throughout my four years here is overwhelming and I am so incredibly lucky to call this place my school. However, if I could change one thing about Erie High it would be the rules set in place, I personally feel like some of the rules we have are a little overboard. I understand the school is protecting us; however, I feel like our school could be a little more lenient towards some rules. Overall, I love Erie high!

My experience at Erie High School has honestly been a little rough. There's been some bullying around the school targeted toward minority groups. I also think that the school focused too much on their sports rather than focusing on other activities such as the arts. There have also been some situations with some teachers and students that have been inappropriate. Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing teachers in the school but some of them don't really focus on the students learning but rather their personal life. From what I've noticed from the admin all mostly focus their jobs on personal beliefs rather than the situation and what the student has done. One of them targets students struggling in school and always says that the student is in the wrong, one made sure that their daughter got the spotlight, and one of the better-known admin that only focuses on boy sports rather than wanting to support all teams. In this school, I feel like there is a lack in all sorts of aspects.
I’ve been at Erie since I was a freshman (which was also my first year of public school) and I’ve loved all four years. If you want to get involved, it’s very easy to do so. There are a plethora of opportunities for students - from state championship-winning sports, to the award winning Erie Tiger Media program, as well as all of Erie’s AP Classes and other clubs. I’ve been very involved with Erie Tiger Media since my freshman year. I found out about it while playing basketball and realized that I was better at journalism than basketball. I still played sports, though (track and field) before my senior year, when I’ve focused solely on journalism. I’ve covered over 225 sporting events for the Erie Tiger Network (broadcast journalism, where we stream games and events live on YouTube to our 1500+ subscribers), the Tiger Times (online newspaper) and yearbook. I would wholeheartedly recommend Erie to any prospective student. I cannot say enough good things about Erie.
