Fantastic school with incredible teachers who truly care about their students and go above and beyond every single day. Kids receive a well-rounded education with a focus on the environmental, and can often be found outside in Frick Park on science explorations or hikes. My kids absolutely love it and look forward to going to school every day. The school is always trying to improve their best practice methods and serves as a catalyst for change in the Pittsburgh Public Schools system, and of their teaching methods have been introduced in schools around the city. The downside is a lack of sports and clubs after-school, and long bus rides for many kids due to a bus driver shortage in the city.

Administration was not good. Not adept at handling social issues. Not great academically, though some of the teachers were good. My suggestion is to look deeply and ask questions before signing up.
Overall we are very happy. The school culture is excellent. Classes are reasonably challenging although not as academically rigorous as some of the private school in the area. The school is working on diversity but definitely is not as racially or economically diverse as some of the other public schools in the area.
