At Enumclaw Highschool I believe that the majority of our schools student body strives to be all inclusive and have a positive outlook towards others. Specifically, our all inclusiveness towards students with different learning needs. I can often walk through the hallway and see high fives being given to the special needs students. But our inclusiveness is not the only spirit we have. Our school spirit at sporting events does not compare to other schools. Especially at our football games. Everyone dresses up and participates in the cheers, we all stand for the whole game and the stands are always packed shoulder to shoulder with cheering students. These are some of the highly positive parts of Enumclaw high school. On the other hand our school has experienced our fire alarms being pulled almost every other week, things being stolen such as cars and bathroom items, and we have a high number of students who smoke and vape in school. Despite these issues I give my school 4/5 stars.
Enumclaw offers a lot in the form of clubs and activities that any student could find an interest in. The school has a strong culture of farming and hard work that makes going there everlastingly interesting. While some of the teachers in the math department are not the greatest, many of the other programs have passionate teachers with small class sizes which allows for an interactive learning environment. Recently, the school was rebuilt so there is now a two-story four-winged building adjacent to Semanski. This allows for a safer and more modern building in an old farm town with hometown feelings and values. Going here every day for the past 4 years has been an adventure that I hope more will be able to experience! Rarely will you find a school that doesn't require more than a security guard.
What I liked about Enumclaw was the fact that the teachers and staff, as well as the students attending the school, were very nice especially toward someone who just joined Enumclaw HS in 11th grade. At my last school, I struggled with math to the point of me retaking classes due to a lack of explanation and understanding of the material provided by the teachers. Although, when I went to the Enumclaw the teachers there seemed to care or pay more attention to the student who may need clarification on a part of the lesson. Which made it easier to learn the material.
