Terrible Place.
Rude Students, Mixed bag with teachers (some are just really annoying and god help you if you get those teachers), and since the building is shared with a middle school, you need to go through an underpass to get through your class which is claustrophobic. Building is horrible. I had an absolutely horrible time here. Just do well in Middle School and go to BSGE. This school may offer engineering classes but its not worth the stress and isolation you get from being here. It's better to chase that opportunity when your out of High School

I chose this school as my first I do not regret that choice but I do which the school handled a lot of things differently. There was a lot of great opportunities that we had but not a lot of knowledge spread around about these opportunities. If you are a dedicated student who enjoys engineering and technology you will find does opportunities and this school will be a great choice but if not this school won’t be good for you.
School is small but diverse. Teachers are great and helpful! There are a lot of clubs you can join and they try to help you with Everything they can from your grades to college prep
This school is great, they have an awesome robotics team, programs to join and is partnered with big tech companies.
Energy Tech is an incredible young institution, where students who want to succeed are afforded the resources to do so.
The Principal, teachers and staff are very involved in the success and development of the students. They listen to the parents and are very welcoming to more parents to voice their opinion, suggestions and involvement in the success of the students and the school. I am very glad that my son goes to this school and he is extremely happy there. His only disappointment is that Covid-19 has changed everything about the in-person school experience and this is no fault of the school.
Energy Tech High School has many programs and offer free associates degree if you continue your education for another 2 years after completing high school requirements. The only thing that I don't really enjoy about the school is that they don't let any of the students go out for lunch.
I am so glad I chose this school. The staff are helpful and polite. It has a great family atmosphere. The principal knows all the students and staff by first name. She is very involved and so are the parents. This school prepares students for college and beyond. It is an early college high school with a focus on engingeering.
I think that the teachers are pretty good and as far as academics go the school does pretty well also. Though when it comes to different clubs and sports the school is terrible. There aren't much sports or clubs to join which is terrible.
So many opportunities for Engineering majors, especially for girls. We learn AUTOCAD and other tech software programs. Our school has the coolest Robotics program with dedicated teachers. Its located in Long Island City, Queens which is really close to Manhattan and super convenient. The classes are small which allows each student to be seen and heard. My school is very safe and I feel very comfortable there.
It’s a small school. The teachers have the ability to address everyone’s concerns and help them learn as well. They incorporate different learning styles for the students as well.
Its a good small school with excellent program. Motivated teachers.
Very weak PTA and not enough activities for kids . A lot more could be done on building school spirit and engaging kids.

I liked the dynamic of teachers and students. Small class sizes made the connection between teachers and students feel personal. We felt as if we had to impress our teachers because they really watched us, and they knew our strengths and weaknesses. I wish the building was not shared with a middle school as we feel trapped, our school also lacks diversity in clubs and interactive activities. We rarely did anything outside of classwork, sitting at desks all the time basically.
I like how the school has a unique program that allows students to take early college classes. Furthermore, the school is partnered with LaGuardia Community College and Con Edison to provide students with an associate's degree for free after 2 years.
