I really enjoy attending Empire! I have had an amazing experience with my teachers in honors and AP classes, as well as electives. I am a part of one of Empire's biggest extracurriculars: Student Wellness Advocacy Team (SWAT). SWAT is a great way to get involved in the community and make a change in the school as we educate our peers on various wellness topics such as the problems with tobacco and vape companies, daily exercise, and mental health. I can attest to SWAT's impact on the community as multiple local officials have recognized SWAT and congratulated its work. Being a youth advocate, I also do extra work in the community, and Empire's administration has been very supportive. In addition, my counselor is always emailing out scholarship opportunities to students, which helped me to get motivated and apply for a few scholarships.
Empire is my second home. It is a place where I feel comfortable enough to be myself and experience genuine happiness. Yes, I am genuinely happy at school! Surprising, I know. The clean and cozy campus, the enthusiastic and level-headed principal, the fun and exciting activities and the small student population are some of my favorite things about Empire. The reason why I give it only four stars is because my only dislike is that I have had problems with some of the teachers. However, disregarding the teaching staff, I love this school.
I love empire and the inclusivity at this school. it is one of the smaller high schools in the district but that doesn't make it any less important. I have enjoyed the time I have spent at this school and have loved the electives they offer and the teachers. I really enjoyed the photography/photoshop class I got to take. It was something I really wanted to learn more about and in the end, my work definitely paid off, and I got to learn a lot of cool skills. There is definitely a range of people and different groups and clubs for everybody. Empire is well known for its beautiful amphitheater and theater program and I have enjoyed watching the production put on there. I think the athletic program is also something to mention, there are a lot of talented athletes and coaches that have been able to help them succeed.
