Emmons Grade School Reviews

This school has prepared me not only for high school but has taught me college readiness as well. All of the students' scores are flying, and it's no surprise with the great teachers. Even the poorest of students here go on to be above average in high school. I always look forward to school events, and there are lots of opportunities for parents to get involved and students, as well, to volunteer. They have a bullying report system that helps you submit an issue through the website that has been of service to me and many of my friends. Some students that attend Emmons don't realize how lucky they are to attend this school, so don't be surprised by some bad ratings, people often try to compare us to the larger Antioch Upper-Grade School, which is nicer facility wise, but not academic. All in all, I'm greatful to be a student here.

Bullying is a major issue here. This schools teachers yell and give you a lot of homework. In math there's homework everyday. That's common core for ya'. The food is made by Preferred Meals and is prepackaged, tasteless trash. Chromebooks are way too slow and useless, literally a piece of paper on a screen. Sports would be okay if the coaches, you know, knew anything about the sport. There's no clubs really, unless you want to freelance and save the staff time by writing the yearbook. The facility is pretty up-to-date but there's definitely parts that are disgusting and gross. Administration just tells you not to do something again or they'll call your parents, the usual. Resources, well, we got textbooks and Google, which we can NEVER EVER use.. Parent involvement in K-5 is pretty average, in middle school, you'll never see anyone with a visitor tag on for the whole year. Back to Academics, reading books is probably the worst thing you can require a student to do. WE HATE IT SO MUCH!
