Would definitely go again! Classmates I met were fun and welcoming! Although I was shy, they would try to help me out my comfort zone. Students and teachers had very good relationships. School rules are a bit strict though.

My son loves attending Emerson Communty Charter School. His teachers are supportive, responsive to his academic needs and he is adjusting to the Common Core rigor. He is in the Emerson Sports Academy- which holds him to a gpa requirement and he is learning Cornell note taking skills. He's been on three field trips to UCLA this year, as well as Science Camp for five days. The one counselor and two administrators are wonderful. The RSP staff is excellent. He loves his Robotics elective. A school is so much more than a summation of test scores. Emerson is a great school.
Almost all teachers put in effort to make sure that their students understand the material. They pay attention to students' level and how they do in school and then adjust accordingly. (ex. transfer classes etc...) Mostly, they are helpful. Did not feel excessively uncomfortable with any teacher.
