I had a total of 8 teachers throughout elementary school. All the teachers were staff at Emerson Bandini. All of my teachers were always willing to help me. Even when i was to shy to ask a question it was as if they knew that i was struggling and they approached me and asked me if i needed help. They would also offer tutoring for us and were willing to stay after school to help us with anything that we were struggling with even if it was unpaid hours for them. Overall the teachers at Emerson Bandini elementary school are great!
The staff and students at this school are very accepting and comprehensive about cultural diversity. In fact, every year there is a festival held at the school that is a multicultural festival. In this festival all the students from the school participate and every classroom has a different race or ethnicity. For every class they do projects and storyboards based on the culture they were assigned. These projects are displayed at the festival as well as many performances and acts that are done by these students that show the diversity in cultures. This festival really helps students understand at a young age that evry one should be treated equally without being discriminated by their race.
Since this school is an elementary school, many of the kids don't really know what school spirit is or how to show it. However, the staff try their best to have school spirit. When i attended this school, every Friday morning the whole school would have a quick assembly and this assembly was pretty much just to sing our school song. This was one way that we had school spirit. The teachers also dressed in attire that had our school mascot which was a jaguar.
