I am currently a senior at Elyria High. During my four years at the school there has been a lot that has come to light for me personally. There hasn't been a teacher or administrator that I've met that hasn't been willing to sit down with me and let me talk about what I need, and then proceed to help me get what I need. Elyria High is a diverse school, and they are very welcoming towards freshmen and transfer students. There are so many classes and electives to choose from. Elyria also offers many sports and clubs, everything from Key club, to drama club, marching band, different choirs, foreign language clubs and many more!
As a student in my third year at Elyria High school I can honestly say that the overall experience is average but there are very good aspects. One of the better aspects is the wide variety of classes we can take. There are surrounding districts that could only wish they had the variety we have. The other major positive aspect is the faculty, they are very connected with their students and based on the classes they are very good at teaching the curriculum.
My teachers have all been amazing here. They were always there when myself, or anyone, needed help. My counselor Mr. Burke has also helped a ton! The wonderful administration has helped create an amazing set of programs to help us students out. My 4 years here have been an absolute blast, but I am looking forward to using the skills I have honed here to excel in college. Also a quick shoutout to our great band director, Mr. Putka. He got us to really push ourselves, and become a great band.
