Elverado High School Reviews
Rating 3.5 out of 5 16 reviews
Elverado High school doesn't offer much room for opportunity, we don't have a football team because of the low amount of students attending the school. We no longer have music classes because we don't have the funds or space for such a program, but we do have a lot of opportunities for students interested in an agricultural career. As well as the lack of opportunity outside of an agricultural career there isn't much diversity, because of this lack of diversity some students won't be as accepting to their peers if they are of a different sexuallity or race. During my freshman year if you were to claim that you were different from others it would mean social suicide, people would look at you weird or act as if you had the plague. Though there were few in the school who didn't care about the differences of others and would try to befriend those that were different, they would in turn be avoided.
Our school is small so it doesn't offer many opportunities. We don't have a music club or band, football, or many leadership activities. We have small leadership activities in some clubs but not enough to get us the needed experience. Teachers come and go at my school. We just lost 4 teachers last year and got new ones this year. We're going to end up losing another one this year. Nothing really lasts long here. We had co-oped with a different school in order to have a football year but that only lasted one year. Our food isn't the best, we have small portions and "unique" meals. Just recently we had a hamburger with three pickles, celery and ranch and then a rice krispy treat. We don't receive much money and so we end up being stuck with old and broken things. Our small white bus has multiple problems, they may be small but there are many. I would hope for more options for students to participate in. I would like to have better food options. Most kids would agree with me on that.
At Elverado Highschool, you are able to form actual relationships with your teachers and members of the staff. This allows students a more personalized education and a close knit feeling within the building. However, because it is a small school, it lack the resources and opportunities some bigger school may offer. I would like to see the school grow and develop more.
