Moving to a new neighborhood and starting high school was a nerve-racking experience, but the community was so welcoming! The teachers are wonderful and show they care a lot about not only your grades, but your well-being, too. Although some policies were not carried out as thoroughly as they should have been, and the school spirit being extremely low, Elmwood Park High School overall is a great school where students will take advantage of the opportunities that are given.

While attending Elmwood Park high school the teachers are great and there are plenty of good resources that could be found if one just looks around and talks to the right teachers. At this school it is nice to get that one on one time with the teachers and being comfortable enough to let them know what is going on in your life or just being able to vent. The school spirit and sports could be improved by thinking more outside the box and not just letting almost everyone who tries out on the teams. It would be nice if there was more student involvement.
The school has great teachers but the resources can be limited and the teachers aren’t appreciated. The food is terrible I recommend bringing food from home if you can. Also, don’t take AP classes they can be a giant waste of your money in the long run. The students overall are kind. Sports are sometimes celebrated but not overly so. The school also recognizes the art programs more than the average high school.
