Overall, I have had a very good experience at Ellensburg High School! The administrators at my school are incredible. They are extremely involved with the student body as a whole, and intentionally work to build positive, professional relationships with each student! Our teachers care deeply about student success, and most will work with students to get them the help and resources they need. Given that Ellensburg High School is in a small town with a primarily Caucasian population, there is less diversity than many other schools in Washington state. However, I must say that over my four years at EHS, I have seen significant efforts made to promote diversity and acceptance of all students. Sports and clubs are highly encouraged and offer a great community for students looking to get involved. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ellensburg High School and will fondly look back at my years and memories made here!
I love Ellensburg High School and I feel that it provides for a lot of opportunities, but sadly I feel a lot could change for the better. There are many new classes offered such as new stem classes and CTE classes that many schools don't have. I find that some actives are exclusive and picky about the kind of students that are let in or that are part of that team. Some of the administrators clearly have their favorite sports and favorite group of students making it hard for all students to have equal opportunities. Communication between the school and students are also lacking. Most students have little idea of any actives going on around the school. I do however enjoy the cross country and track team and have much fun each season. I also enjoy some of the classes offered like biotech and the stem classes truly setting up some students for college life or life beyond high school.
Ellensburg High school was awesome! All of the staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help their students be successful. It was a small high school but not too small and their music department was amazing!
