Elko High School is great! My school has many traditions that everyone has the chance to take apart of. Our sports are the pride of our school. We have been rewarded with the best home court. Our student section is the place to be at games and it's packed with spirit. We have a great musical department. The Choraliers is my school's award winning singing group, we had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. We also have many different AP classes that students can take, but I wish they had more. Our teachers are very involved and supportive of their students. My school is centered around respect and everyday we are reminded how we must treat our classmates. High School for me has been the best 4 years of my life. The atmosphere is great and my classmates help each other out in the classroom and on the field. My teachers have been great with preparing me for college and AP tests. High School wouldn't of been the same if it wasn't for Elko High School.

The reason I say excellent is because I am a music major in college and being involved the high schools elite choir really got me exposed to a lot of different musical opportunities, traveling to different states, all state choir. The band program also travels and we did well in our competitions. Being as involved as I was in music, I was able to learn many things I could become. Now it's a matter of developing my talents to become what I can. They say luck is preparation meeting opportunity and I can't wait to use the opportunities Elko High School has prepared me for :)
Elko is a decent community and the high school is average overall. There is little diversity of people and subjects, but this school allows students to progress. Sports are at the minimum: track, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, softball, and basketball. School spirit week, assemblies and dances occur throughout the school year. School spirit levels vary with each class and person, but is prominent to most during the sports season. There are a handful of various clubs. There are many things for students to get involved with.

EHS is an open campus with about six building and some trailer-buildings. Campus is also down the street from Great Basin Community College which allows easy access to early admission to college. Some duel-credit courses are at reduced costs and some count as high school credit towards required courses (math or English.) Many local food business are also a few minutes walk away and there's a school lunch program. Police are on campus.
