I love the fact that going to ECHS gives you a chance to be yourself or, if you are wanting to be different they accept you for you! I feel welcome whenever I step into the building and that’s all that matters! If I could choose anything to change, it would probably be better lunches. I’m like every other student, and we just want something good to eat sometimes. Something different each day, not the same thing every three days! But during Covid-19, the teachers and staff have been extremely helpful through our online school. And if you can teach and guide students through the screen, I say that that is a great teacher. That’s why I love it here!

Elkhart Central is a great school to get experiences with different kinds of people. A lot of the teachers really care and there are a lots of college prep/AP opportunities, especially with the Career Center. I don’t personally have any experience in sports, but the music and theater educators are simply wonderful! Central isn’t perfect, but it’s home, and I feel it’s prepared me so far.
Elkhart Central High School gave me many experiences that prepared me for college and life. I played three sports, cross country, wrestling, and track and field, participate in multiple clubs and was involved in the fine arts. Due to Elkhart Centrals partnerships with leading higher education institutions I was able to graduate high school with 49 college credit hours giving me a huge head start compared to other college freshman. I was able to experience college level classes which has allowed for a smooth transition into college. In my first semester of higher education I have earned a GPA of 3.975. Many teachers I had through the years of high school would see me walking through the halls and would stop me to ask how things are going and would offer advice on struggling topics or congratulate me on achievements I had earned. I have no doubt that Elkhart will continue to harbor an educational program that promotes a culture of community, support, and excellence.
