Elk Lake Elementary school’s PTO is very involved with their students and strive to let them learn in a fun and unique way. However Elk Lake’s Junior/Senior High school does not seem to care about their students’ well being at all. They’re more invested in discipline rather than education. Students spend more time in detention for ripped jeans than in a classroom learning valuable information. They also do not prepare older students for college at all.
I liked the art and chorus classes. I think that they should be more opened minded about the students and try to have more things for the students to do, like clubs.
Elk Lake has a very safe and welcoming environment. All of the teachers have a very unique teaching style that works for each of their classrooms. All of the teachers and faculty are engaged in the students at Elk Lake. Many of the teachers or other employees at Elk Lake are alumni. This makes the environment very well known and friendly. Although I am excited for college and a fresh start, I will miss Elk Lake.
