Like any other high school, there's some things that EGHS can improve on. Fire alarms, fights, and threatening incidents have become more common. Also in the past few years, the administration has changed a lot. Fundraising and activities have become considerably limited by new restrictive regulations, which unfortunately curbs the growth and impact of clubs and groups.
EGHS has some positive things like: having a handful of teachers and staff genuinely dedicated to their careers and guiding students to become better students and people in the future, the academies of the school generally establishing active and welcoming environments, doing well in a mix of sports, and a good amount of diversity in the student population.
This school's pretty decent school overall.

I liked Elk Grove High School for many reasons because it is very diverse, loving, open armed and a safe school. My experience at elk grove was very fun until it reached to an end. My junior and senior year were online because of the pandemic but they acknowledged a good education for us online. They care about your safety and about you. They make you feel noticed. Counselors, teachers, and staff are so kind. Throughout my high school year I developed multiple relationships with many teachers, my Avid teacher, softball coaches, and my counselor. Thanks to elk grove high school as well are helping me with college. I wouldn't have known half the stuff I know now about college if it were not for them. Thank you Elk Grove High School.
Elk Grove High School boasts a great amount of history in its walls, its culture, and its awards that date back into the early 1900's. Unlike most of the schools in the district, while archaic, the schools design and architecture are different and not similar to any other school in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed the amount of trees and shade that the school has to offer, especially during the rainy and hot season. However, the school is small and everything seems the same, even during homecoming season or football season. The schools boring design speaks volumes when you can draw comparisons to the schools culture and demography. The culture is as old as the school. While the school looks like it desires a future of diversity, it is still stagnant. The number of teachers that possess school spirit, can be counted on a single hand. One thing that should be changed is the spirit and culture. A change from the inside will affect how the school looks on the outside, for the better.
