I like the fact that all of my teachers know me. It's a small rural community. The school isn't overwhelming, I never felt lost in it, but that I knew where I needed to be, and if I needed help I knew where to go. Most of the teachers were willing to help however they could. What I wish would have been different was the scope of classes that were offered. For example, there was no Anatomy class, and attending college in a health related major, that put me behind. I also wish there had been the option to study various trades in the school, like neighboring schools offer. For example, if a student doesn't see college as the next clear step, and this is the case for many students, they can explore a possible career by studying the trade of their choice for half of the school day. We did have the option to travel to a nearby BOCES, but most students honestly don't want to leave the school. The school is good, but it could improve on some options.
Truthfully my experience hasn't been extremely horrible but not the best either. In the school mnay of the teachers care so much and you can see that right away. They are all so happy to see the students grow right in front of them. But yet until recent years the administration was horrible, now it seems to be better yet there doesn't seem to be any set rules or standards... only certain kids will get in trouble. The school also doesn't seem to always follow proper protocols.. Parents don't seem to be involved with the school very much... yet since we are a small school we don't get the opportunities that we could get. We don't have many clubs for on reason of not having people to run the clubs. But overall my experience hasn't been completely horrible there are many great things about the school.
I enjoyed the teachers and the people. The amount of help and assistance teachers in this school district provide to students is remarkable. They make themselves available and take an interest in students work. I have had the privilege of having Mrs.Casey as a teacher for four years and she inspires me to try and do the best I can. There are many remarkable teachers that inspire students to excel. The sports programs may be average and not the best, but they provide kids with outlets. On top of sports teh clubs come in an abundance and help keep students working toward a healthy happy future.
