About

Housed in a classic 1927 landmark building, El Segundo High School claims the mantle of “California Distinguished High School,” an award bestowed upon the campus in spring of 2003 and again in 2007. Furthermore, in 2008, Newsweek Magazine placed ESHS in the top 5% of high schools nationally. Additionally, the El Segundo Unified School District, in 2007, had the honor of being named one of Standard and Poor’s twenty-nine “academic out-performing” school districts in the state. El Segundo High School not only weaves into its cultural fabric the beliefs embraced by all its stakeholders: students, faculty, parents, and community, but also proudly verbalizes those same ideals in its Mission Statement:
El Segundo High School will provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become life-long learners, effective communicators, and socially productive citizens who will be prepared for choices and challenges in the 21st century.

El Segundo High School Reviews
I have lived in El Segundo for most of my life. Located next to Los Angeles, El Segundo is a small, tight knit community. Our high school is a beautiful school that is often used for making movies!
Our campus provides an open, welcoming feeling. Located in southern California, we enjoy nice weather for most of the year. In addition, our school is on the small to medium size so a student doesn't feel overwhelmed or lost.
Perhaps the biggest downside to it's size is the lack of some of the extracurricular opportunities that larger schools can offer as well as more choices of classes.
The small community offers a feeling of safety, support of each other and long lasting friendship!
