I enjoyed many of my classes at EMHS, and the teachers are very supportive of my endeavors. From my experience, they are willing to take time out of their day to help you grow as a student and properly understand the curriculum. The AP and honors courses were stimulating and challenged me in a plethora of ways. I also learned how to be a proper leader and work efficiently with my fellow classmates, which will definitely benefit me in college! My only complaint is that the school is short on textbooks, so studying in the library can be a challenge.
El Monte High School is a school where all the teachers and administrators are willing to do good for their students. They give us the chance to prepare for college by giving us courses that are for college readiness. There are a variety of sports and clubs to participate in. Some sports are cross country, volleyball, football, soccer, basketball, baseball, and track and field. Some clubs are UNICEF, M.E.Ch.A, CSF, Link Crew, Leos, Laurels, and NHS where there occur a lot of student involvement, academics, and leadership. The teachers and administrations commit to a safe learning environment, at the school, and now virtually. Students can easily talk to most teachers and have a good student-teacher relationship since they are really friendly. Overall, El Monte High School is a great school because of the staff, teachers, administrators, and students.
This school deeply cares about its students and tries to stay in touch with alumni for whatever they need. El Monte High School is truly an amazing place to grow as a person and as a student. I am so blessed to be able to call myself an El Monte High School lion. Teachers and counselors only want to see your life be successful and they guide you in that direction. I love the food and eat pretty well here. The 3 choirs that we have here at El Monte High School are top-tier and perform all around Southern California and there is even a performance in Hawaii for the highest ranking choir.
