For the most part, we love the teachers at El Mo. The AP programs are great and there are many neat electives. The music program could use improvement though, when there are motivated kids who don't get the support they need to have a good program.
It is a great school, this is my second year at El Modena High School and I really love it. Teachers here have some great skills, every one has a different way of folding information into our brains. Staff and faculty care a lot about us, there is always someone there to talk to if we need. Spirit is also evident here, we have the "Rowdy Rooters" which is an awesome group of students who make the school spirit rave in excitement. El Modena is where I found myself as a student, and a person.
There is nothing remarkable about the school. It is in essence a high school through and through. The teachers are kind and patient. The students are crass, but civil. Overall there isn't a thing I'd change, it's nothing special but there isn't anything wrong with it.
All the teachers work their hardest and really make an effort to help their students! The students are really nice and are very friendly! Love this place!
It was cool 9/10 recommend school was alright. Cold days super chilly got the AC blasting, hard to sleep.
At El Modena, I have taken 9 AP classes from freshman to senior year. My AP teachers are tough but teach well and I learned a lot while studying with them. However, for my regular classes, the level of teaching wasn't as high as the level my AP teachers taught at.
During my time at El Modena, I have had many teachers that positively impacted my experience. The teachers genuinely care about the students' learning and I never felt hesitant to ask them for help. The school offers many different classes and clubs that made my experience more enriching.
I found high school at El Modena to be a fun experience with exceptional Honors and AP teachers and a fun laid back atmosphere. I didn't experience any bullying nor did I see any like is shown in films. The Spirit Week events were also something to look forward to and I feel like El Modena does a better job at execution of such activities compared to other high schools.
Great school! It's been a pleasure studying here at El Modena. Teachers here are one of the best. Students are very encouraged to learn. The campus is great as the district is adding more new buildings and a stadium.
As a senior from El Modena Highschool, I can say I am very happy with my high-school experience. What really makes this school special are the teachers. The faculties and the campus are old, but the teachers really make the difference.
El Modena High School is filled with great teachers, school spirit, and resources to make the ultimate high school experience! It is a wonderful community to learn, communicate, and thrive! With amazing school spirit, you will always feel like a part of El Modena. Go Vanguards!
El Modena was overall an incredible high school. Like all high schools, there will of course be a few intolerable students or teachers but there are also tons and tons of incredible individuals whom I'll never forget. My four years were stressful at times and insanely relieving at others. I don't regret anything and would happily relive it.
My time at ElModena has been one of the best, with their CTE pathways and excellent STEM program i was able to find a passion for engineering as well as explore other fields like criminal justice. Although the campus is old they have recently started construction on new more modern buildings. El Modena also has outstanding sports programs. I play on the women's water polo team and both years I have played we have made it into CIF semi-finals which is a drastic improvement from prior years. Besides water polo all the other sports on campus either go into CIF or end up winning league. A part of the sports teams is the scholar-athletes. Which continues to grow every year. Coaches push their students to have good grades as well as become mentors for them and help to lead them down a successful road.
I have had the most amazing experience at El Modena. The school is really all about the students, staff, and the school spirit. In seeing other schools, El Modena is a very inclusive school that wants everyone to participate in activities. Not only are the people amazing, but the academics are beyond amazing. There are so many great teachers, and there are so many programs students can be in to study almost anything. Our school does a great job of having a ton of programs, from art, to cooking, to medical studies, to digital design, to theater, the list goes on. I have made myself very involved at the school (dance, ASB, clubs, teachers, community service), which I believe has made my experience so amazing.
I transferred to El Modena my sophomore year. I did not attend at first because it is not the best school academically, but the social environment is very warm and I felt that I belonged to this school even though I transferred during my years in high school. I am very glad for transferring because I met friendly and loving teachers who would help me on my journey to college. They are very understanding and always available to talk, whether it's about schoolwork, situations at home, financial situations, or your personal life. I feel that the community of El Modena is very warming and even events like Spirit Week where the classes battle against each other give a feeling of unity and involvement. However, I feel that if the clubs were more active with students who cared more about community service and volunteering outside of school, I feel that it would be better.
Great school. We were a very close class still mostly stay in touch with everyone. Great football and basketball and soccer teams.
Most of the teachers were AWESOME. They are super willing to connect and help students succeed. A great environment to learn and grow.
