El Dorado High School Reviews
Rating 3.71 out of 5 559 reviews
I have a very good experience with El Dorado HS. Teachers, counselors and administrators are really helpful, caring, and supporting the students. The school has a calm and friendly atmosphere, and the school pays attention that the students are respectful with each other. Many clubs and different activities are provided to students as well as making sure the we are college ready. Many of my teachers are making the classes fun and interesting!
El Dorado High School is particularly affected by vaping, at most times it can be found around each hall. There is also a lack of teachers, many classes may have a permanent sub that knows little about the subject being taught. The admin are nice yet can have prejudice to students at times and can be very mean and hold you back from reaching certain activities or roles in the school. Classrooms are decent and an overall enjoyable experience. Early college is provided allowing kids to graduate with an associates degree. What could change is the lack of teachers.
El Dorado High School is often described as "ghetto" by the students who attend and I do agree to a certain extent. Just walking around the campus, you could see obvious signs of damage on the walls and ceilings in at least 3 or so classes per hallway. The kid's behavior can be roudy and annoying, but it's the friends you make in the school that truly matter. The school does have many good aspects, including it's college corner, AP, IB, and Dual Credit programs and classes, etc, and most teachers do truly enjoy their job and it shows. However, this school does favor its sports programs over fine arts and technical departments. Other than that, the school does try and make an effort to create school events and spirit week, which do brighten up some people's days. Regardless, I will miss the experiences and friends I shared when I'm gone.
