ECHS is a very interesting place in that anybody could have any type of experience they desire. Our school offers classes, clubs, and activities of all types ranging from casual gatherings to serious commitments. Anybody particularly inquisitive about a subject can find unexpected resources by asking the right teacher, and the staff is flexible and will accommodate for any legitimate concerns you bring them. The band program has over 150 year-round members, and is one of ECHS's strongest communities as well. The James Morehouse project provides free or inexpesive healthcare and support for the student body. The school's atmosphere is casual and it is a refreshing place to be.

El Cerrito High School is a great school and very diverse. We have great opportunities of taking AP classes. The staffs and teachers are really helpful but I hope all of the teachers make us submit out work online. We waste so many paper at school which is really bad and I think even 1 teacher can make a change by making their students submitting their work in online. It's way more sufficient and saves a lot of trees! It would be amazing if we got all the teachers to do that, we can really help change the world.
At El Cerrito High there's lots of ethnic diversity, the campus is fairly new which makes the school aesthetically pleasing. The faculty and teachers are really great and you get to know them, they are very open to students. One thing that I personally think is great are the two academies :Ita and Media. Both academies offer a range of internship opportunities, community developement and scholarship opportunities. Overall my experince has been extremely positive. I recommend El Cerrito because it prepares students for college readiness.
