ECHS is a good option for people who are independent and want the chance to take college classes whilst still in HS. I attended ECHS for my Freshman and Sophomore year, but I'll be leaving for my Junior year because of conflicts I've had with some of my peers. If you're academic-focused, ECHS is perfect for you, but if you want a really good social life, it's probably better to look for another school.

The counselors at this school are completely unorganized and not in sync with ventura college. I was told this going in, but decided not to do anything about it and it came back to bite me.
DO A LOT OF RESEARCH BEFORE GOING TO THIS SCHOOL.
What makes this school unique is that being in an in an independent study environment, you are given the freedom to create your own schedule. It is a great school for people who want an alternative learning environment, as well as for athletes who may have busy schedules. El Camino allows students to take college classes as part of the curriculum. I believe this is a great idea and helps prepare us students for college. I originally came to El Camino as a temporary alternative and later decided to stay. I fell in love with the amazing school environment and could not imagine myself being at any other high school. If I could do high school all over again, I would choose this school all over again because it has given me the tools I need to succeed, not just academically but in life itself.
