I love the campus. It is very beautiful & the staff that works here are amazing! I am a part of the rotc program & it makes you feel like you are part of a huge family. The opportunities here are limitless. I would recommend/encourage anyone to come to this school. Even though the food isn't amazing, everything else about this school makes up for it. From sports to clubs there are many ways to get involved & make new friends here!
El Camino is a well diverse school. Theres different activities and clubs that you can take place in. Although I did have trouble with my councilor. Every student gets assigned a councilor and mine was just not committed as much to me and I felt like she was just trying to get me out of her office and seemed too busy. As for college readiness, there are certain classes you can take that are dedicated to college readiness and there is a room dedicated to give college and scholarship opportunities but i feel like its not advertised that much and not many students actually have the self motivation to go to it. Most teachers are actually dedicated o the students. I say most because there are some teachers that sit back, give you work, and expect you to self teach. If you get that class ,well that sucks, because the councilors don't let you change teachers! The class change policy is to change a class based off of subject or placement level. It's a good school for being a public school.
I really loved the teachers and the sports programs this school had! Many opportunities and really cool people to meet and hang out with. I would love to see improvement on the arts program though. That meaning as in what to learn and I would encourage more staff positions in the arts program.
