I have been going to this school for 2 and a half years, and I've seen some things. School start at 7:30, meaning you better be in your class by 7:35. But they let kids in By 7:15. This wouldn't be a problem if there weren't backpack check lines, breakfast lines, and a good amount of pushing and shoving to get into the building first. At first this was fine, the students were late often because of them getting their food, or finishing up tutoring, but they kept changing the rules. Soon we weren't allowed to take food out of the lunch room, which was what was keeping kids from being late in the first place! The kids would gather their food and then hurry into their classroom to eat there so they wouldn't be late. We accepted this gracefully and even respected their rule. But then they made a rule that people that were late to first period would be given ISS, which is In-School-Suspension! They kept pushing us into a hole that would get us in trouble, and keep getting in trouble.
I have had an overall good experience there. The teachers there are wonderful! The counselors really care about your needs and your concerns.
I have spent four years at Eisenhower High School. This school is like a big family. The school spirit here is fantastic! Everyone gets along for the most part, and there are opportunities around every corner for everyone. Being able to attend Eisenhower and participate in the organizations have allowed me to be selected to attend state conferences and even national conferences. Definitely an amazing school to be a part of.
