Although this school is considered a low income community, the education I received from this school was outstanding. All of my teachers were dedicated to not only helping me learn but also helping me grow throughout my four years spent there. Not only did the teachers focus on AP but they also focused on teaching us life skills which I greatly appreciated and I will forever be grateful for each of them. They will all hold a special place in my heart, once a golden bear always a golden bear.
Overall great teachers in all grades no matter the subject. Great staff that almost feels like family to be around. Coaches are incredible from my experience, always had the best faith in the student athletes, they also helped with any thing spanning from course help or real life advice. It was filled with school pride from every single student and teacher. The college resources were infinite with staff specifically meant to help with college readiness, help with college applications and even help with essay work
I remember when I first came to school here; there was so many people skipping. Not doing what they were supposed to be doing. Test score were low. Attendance was always high. As I became a Sophomore, then Junior, things started to change. We got a new Vice Principles. So many new teachers with really great credentials. So many school cops to watch people leaving school, or watching for skippers. The food in the cafeteria got better over the years. There was a huge difference from when I first got there, then when I left. The vibe of being a bad school was gone. You could see it in other students faces that they enjoyed being at the school , just like I did. Its more of a Successful vibe now, with all the new Teachers. Also, (I have some much pride of this) we have the most Duel Credit course available IN SAN ANTONIO. OF ALL HIGH SCHOOLS. Which means classes that count towards college, and are transferable to any school you decide to go to.
