Although I've only spent one year at EHS physically because of the pandemic, there are quite a few things I've come to love about it. Almost all of the teachers I've had at EHS so far have been phenomenal, we are provided with mac-books to use throughout the school year, and the music program that I'm a part of is a very closely-knit and welcoming community. Only thing I would say is that Edison is a very highly populated town, which means our average sized high school is packed to the brim. In the first and last few weeks of school the lack of air conditioning can be a bit torturous, especially in the 2nd floor classrooms, but over this summer (2022) the school is being renovated and air conditioning added to a few of the larger spaces (ie. the cafeteria, auditorium, etc). Overall I'd say that EHS is a great school with a lot of great people, as a student I'd highly recommend!
Edison High School has higher AP passing scores than nine of the top twenty public schools listed by New Jersey Monthly and more National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists than ten of these Top Twenty schools. EHS offers 18 Advanced Placement and 38 Honors courses in a variety of disciplines. The class of 2013 is currently attending many fine universities, a list of which is located on our EHS Higher Education page. It also has award-winning fine arts programs, such as our Marching Band, Choirs and Drama Club. It has won competitions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Our athletes participate in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red and White Divisions in 22 varsity sports. The graduating Class of 2013 contained 505 students. Of this group, 52% are attending a four-year college while 35% are attending a two-year college. The remain 12% have gone on to start successful careers in the workforce or military. A great school! Almost everyone misses it, after graduation.
Great diversity, enjoyed my experience there. The school provides new back books to use during the school year during your time at the school. Newly renovated auditorium. Smart boards are being added to classrooms as well. Priority is sports with fairly new renovated fields. Wish art programs received more attention. AMAZING dance program, curtesy of Ms. Jenkins, a formers steps on broadway instructor.
