I am so grateful for the teachers and staff at Edgewood. They truly care about their students, and each other, and give the school a family environment. My freshman year is when we got shut down by the pandemic, and although my sophomore year was a little rocky, I was blessed to have fantastic junior and senior years. The teachers really made a difference in my school experiences. I feel that if the administration continues to keep that family environment that supports and uplifts, it'll continue to be a great experience for those who attend Edgewood. Keep the right people and keep a good thing going!
Edgewood, being a smaller junior/senior school, allows the atmosphere to be more collaborative and most everybody knows someone else in the school, whether through clubs or athletics. That being said, a small school will disseminate rumors and word of mouth in little time, contributing to a more exposed personal life than other schools. It has been a stressful but rewarding 5 years at the school where I will be graduating from, I will try to make my 6th just as homey as the previous years have. One gripe I have is that many of the 7th grade students are still mainly 6th grade students but in a different place, and teachers have a varying degree of strict adherence to dress and behavioral tolerance. While this measure is necessary and proper, it should not be a measure of heightened concern, rather it be a stern hand of propriety if severely violated during the school day (school day ending by the final/dismissal bell).
Honestly, it's a great school that allows me to accelerate with higher-level coursework and the teachers are all so amazing. They are very supportive of each individual student and care about not only our learning but our well-being as individuals. I would love to see more greenery on campus but overall the school itself is amazing.
