Teachers are all kind, they help make you feel at home when coming to school. Very safe environment, the only thing that couldn't be safe is some of the students out school activities they do, which the school cannot control any of that.
The social/academic atmosphere in this school was of course heavily tainted by the fact that everything is awkward in junior high. There you have mean girls, social cliques and hormones, etc. That given the teachers should be careful navigate what influence they have on their students. The teachers at this school were more or less accustomed to the behavior of juveniles and how the majority act at this age, nevertheless, they failed to realize that the heaviest influence and pressure they put on their students was to make it into a sports team, a show choir or do the basic duties of turning in your homework every once and a while.
They did not equip us to cope with the new workloads or challenges we would be facing as we went into higher grades.
Instead it seemed that everything revolved around the small town mentality of having mediocre talent and parents who will willingly give up their weekends/complete summers driving their kids from game to game or out of town competitions.
The fact that we would soon be in the real world escaped the school's attention, that we were not all meant to be the next Taylor Swift or Michael Jordan, but instead working members of our society, actually contributing to this world seemed to be of little importance in comparison with small town awards for entertainment and sports.
It is one thing to be a well rounded student, who is interested in multiple things and has genuine talent in these fields. That is a great skill and self discipline to have as we move onto bigger things but it is another thing to be entirely enveloped in these things that we forget what school and education is really about, and being the next big thing in town is the only worthwhile aspiration.

2017 Four Star School with "A" ISTEP grade. Excellent band and choir programs. Students have 1 to 1 Chromebooks. Teachers are top notch and call home for positive reinforcement. Buildings are always clean and well maintained.
