I loved my experience at EHS! As a primarily AP student who also takes IB French, I’ve found my teachers and fellow classmates to be very eager to learn and excell at what they do. Generally, however, excluding the IB program, students lack spirit and pride for their school, as well as motivation to excell. That is not the case in more advanced classes like with AP and IB, but the rest of the school is generally indifferent to their education. I wish we had more pep rallys and school-wide activities to increase engagement, but otherwise than that my four years at EHS were memorable and I would not trade them for the world.

I love Edgewood! It's diverse, unique and has a strong sense of community. It gets a bad rap, but honestly the only way you get into trouble is if you go looking for it. The administration is excellent and all the sports and honor societies provide excellent opportunities for students.
I am a senior at Edgewood High school in Harford County, Maryland. This school has a ton of spirit thanks to everyone's love of the community. Everyone is passionate about the part they play. Be it a football player, artist, marching band member, or apart of the musicals. We really do love our school but we are often judged by other schools/students. Some parents do not want send their kids to "Edgewood". They consider our school to be in the hood. That because they think EHS in in "the hood" we aren't educated - we are wild animals. How far they are from the truth; Many teachers at EHS care for us students and our education. I see it as this: your experience at Edgewood depends on who you hang out with. There will always be the "bad kids" no matter what school you attend. My peers and I do not deserve the prejudice we receive from other schools, however our school's perseverance and spirit immensely drowns out the negative voices.
