Edgewood High School is full of opportunities! Not only do the teachers allow students to ask for help and stay after for extra tutoring, they also support those who have been through extreme life struggles. We have very competitive teams and always try to be the best. Though there's drama, as with every high school, there's always ways for everyone to connect. There's groups for everyone, either music, drama, and even unique clubs. Clubs include ASL (American Sign Language), SAGA (Straight and Gay Alliance), and more! There's never a point in the Edgewood High School career where one is felt they're left out! There's always a place for someone and no one is left behind as a ram!
I love my school and all of the students and staff that are involved with it. Edgewood High school is an amazing school and always puts academics on top. On top of that, it is a magnet school that offers many rigorous programs that can help put students on a more academically challenging path that is specific to their interests. Personally, I have started at the TAM (Teaching Academy of Maryland) program and I love it. Although I am a Freshmen, I can see the upperclassmen that are a part of this program and I feel confident that I have a bright future. That being said, even if you do not attend a magnet program at this school, it is still very possible to take advanced placements classes, attend dual enrollment at out local community college and end up on a college bound path. Aside from academics, we are a very community driven school and deeply value the different relationships in a school and community setting.
Edgewood High School is a great school! Majority of the teachers are good teachers, however they're some that are not very good teachers. Some teachers are very judgemental and they care more about a hood or a pair of headphones than teaching us. Classmates can be disruptive but instead of sending them out they go back in forth with them which takes time out of kids that come to school to learn like me. Some of the teachers are also not very understanding when it comes to late work, which make school stressful for kids that play sports or work jobs. Other than that Edgewood is an ok school.
