My experience at Edgewood-Colesburg high has been pretty okay so far. It is a very small school, so everybody knows everybody, which is pretty nice. However, that also means the opportunity is extremely limited. We do partner with a nearby college so that the students can take some college courses, but again, there are only courses for a few professions. There isn't much for healthcare, which is what I am interested in. There are some basic courses, but not a lot to choose from. Most of the teachers here are pretty good too, although our school does have a reputation for not knowing how to do math. And then there is the grading scale. It is impossible to get a 4.0 GPA here, which is extremely discouraging. In my opinion, the grading scale is way too strict. If you get one test answer wrong in your entire high school career, you have absolutely no chance at ever achieving a 4.0 cumulative GPA. This also makes it very hard to get scholarships, as we don't stand out for good grades.
I learned a lot about who I am and who I want to be, by going to Ed-Co. I think that our personal problems should be handled differently. I used to be bullied by some people at my school and nothing was done about it. I also think some of the rules are unnecessary and not fair to the students.
My experience at Edgewood-Colesburg High School was average. Some teachers are here just to do their job. They don't care about the students. Bullying is a huge issue in our school and nobody does anything to stop it. It is sad to see how our school is going down hill because people don't care anymore about anything.
