Edgewood is a school where you can be yourself. You get to personally know your professors and you get easy access to the extra help when you need it. Edgewood offered many different programs and majors for their students. Something I found special about Edgewood is they have a special Ed program. This program gives other students a chance to earn scholarships for working with the special Ed students. This gives the special Ed students a chance to make new friends and access to getting the help they need. Edgewood is full of friendly people and the campus feels at home! Edgewood is a smaller school so it's easier to meet new friends which is perfect for people out of town, speaking from personal experience. Edgewood is located on Monroe street which is a street full of shops and restaurants.
We have an elementary and middle schooler in ECS and are extremely pleased. Having previously enrolled our kids in the public schools, we've found ECS to provide a top-notch education that is adaptive to our kids' individual needs and strengths. They are able to work beyond their grade level (and even skip grades in individual subjects, such as math and english) - never an option in either traditional or G&T pathways in the public schools they previously attended. Likewise, the genuine concern and responsive intervention provided when kids are in need of additional support is compelling and in our experience, unique. Moreover, the use of demerits and strict cell phone policies keeps distracting behaviors at bay, leaving ample time for education. Excellent school leadership paired with dedicated faculty and staff cultivate a warm and welcoming environment. Our other children will definitely attend when they're of age.
Edgewood was a fantastic middle school experience. While I would argue that the Catholic-based education does not lead to as diverse an environment as it should, the overall experience was a positive one.
