Eastwood has so much school pride. It is especially seen in the way we support and involve ourselves in extra curricular activities. Even the alumni still support Eastwood! Football games and other sporting events are filled with alumni and students, blue and gold fill the stands. This year, for my senior year, our school is being torn down. We're currently learning out of portables, and although the idea of being in portables for our senior year wasn't ideal, I'm glad and fortunate to have teachers and faculty try to keep our year just as fun as other years being that we're in portables. Our school may have been torn down, but our school pride remains.

We have a really strong spirit at eastwood. Our class overall is very competitive academically and we take pride in our accomplishments in sports and in our traditions. I loved most of my teachers, especially my AP ones! They love what they do and are always ready to help. Every fall I always see alumni come back to visit their teachers and honestly, I think I will too. I’m so glad to have made fantastic memories here.
It has the capacity to be an "AP Academy" as they provide so many dual credit and AP courses to their students. The teachers are very influential and will spark intellectual interests within individuals. The school is currently going under construction, that is why the school culture and facilities have been affected. Diversity is poor, as we live in a border city that is dominated obviously by Latinos. College readiness could improve, as I believe that they need to emphasize SAT and ACT scores. The resource are helpful, especially since they are provided by the college ready center. Parent involvement is high, as their is a lot of alumni, sports we excel in swimming and track. In regards to clubs, speech and debate, robotics and Future Business Leaders of America dominate as well. The administration is helpful and active within the school. The food is average, its not the best. I am quite glad that Eastwood High School is "El Paso's Finest."
