Eastwood High School is called the school of "El Paso's Finest" and I totally agree with this. The school is recently remodeled and has everything that we need. The school offers many services, such as free access to books, tutoring, scholarship opportunities and much more. These are easy for students to take advantage of and make our school time easier and more complete. The facilities are amazing, pretty and really comfortable. You can really feel the school spirit since the school is always decorated with posters and signs and every classroom reflects the personality of each teacher. Talking about teachers, I have personally met the best teachers at this school. I have met amazing teachers that not only care about our learning but they also care about making sure we become successful people. You can really notice the amazing work environment between teachers and students. The overall environment at school is so nice and enjoyable. I couldn't have chosen a better school for me.
Total Five Star, even though it's not perfect. The academics and teachers are great here, although we are often criticized for going at slower paces than the rest of the district it is actually a blessing in disguise because the teachers here care about the student's success, they do not mind falling behind a bit, they need to make sure that the students understand. The resources, facilities, administration are all superb, all the grown ups here are so helpful! Also, Eastwood is a very proud school, our legacy known. About half of the students are transfers, because the parents know this school is worth it. This creates a interesting social structure and diversity, where nerds and jocks actually live in peace with each other, it was pretty amazing when I first witnessed it. Most of our students, especially the model students, are concerned with preserving our pride and legacy, which I believe is most important: the attitude of the students, proud to be Troopers.
In my opinion, as a current Senior of this school, I could say that Eastwood High School is simply a marvelous school with lackluster students. The institution and personnel are very much qualified and apt to some regards, though there are a few questionable exceptions, but the student population does seem to fall behind others, as they demonstrate very little motivation to succeed in their academics. The currenr administration has sought to strengthen the institution to combat said issue, but these measures simply struggle to correct the social nature of the students. As an institution it is very well kept and proudful, but once its overall population is seen, this can often lower its ranking.
